No fewer than 24 couples participated in the Stiphouse tournament on Sunday, October 19th. Twenty-four members of TTV Stiphout had invited their partners, family members, friends, acquaintances, or colleagues to participate in the invitational tournament. What was especially nice was that youth players, senior members, and daytime recreational players participated. Rarely have we seen such a wonderful group from all levels of our club at one event.

Interim tournament director Frenklin, following Jasper's good example, had scheduled all the pairs for three rounds of singles matches (the table tennis players against each other and the guests against each other) followed by two rounds of doubles matches. Yvette had arranged snacks, which she and her guest Tessa served in the canteen between table tennis matches. Mick and Wilma, who were working the bar, were also kept busy. Not only were there participants, but several visitors also provided plenty of entertainment at Stiphouse (special thanks to the Brouwers and Van Berkel-De Beer families).

The final matches were played a little later than initially anticipated, but since the atmosphere was fantastic, that wasn't a problem for anyone. Ultimately, youth player Nicolas and his mother Mari managed to score the most points and take home the top honor. Other winners of the chocolate treats were determined by lottery.
